Breast Implant Warranty Information

Allergan provides lifetime production replacement for its NATRELLE™ saline-filled and silicone gel-filled breast implants. Below is a summary of Allergan's Confidence Plus warranty programs. It is an overview only and not a complete statement of the program. Saline-Filled Breast Implants

In addition to Allergan's Lifetime Product Replacement coverage, as a recipient of certain Allergan Natrelle™ saline-filled breast implants you are automatically enrolled in Allergan's Confidence Plus Warranty Program. Additionally, Allergan offers an optional Confidence Plus Platinum warranty, which represents the next tier in their comprehensive warranty program coverage. The Confidence Plus Platinum warranty requires a payment of $100 directly to Allergan to activate the enhanced coverage.

Silicone Gel-Filled Breast Implants

In addition to Allergan's Lifetime Product Replacement coverage, as a recipient of certain Allergan Natrelle™ silicone gel-filled breast implants you are automatically enrolled in Allergan's Confidence Plus Platinum warranty, which represents the highest tier in their comprehensive warranty program coverage. The Confidence Plus Platinum warranty for silicone gel-filled implants does not require an additional payment to activate the coverage.

Lifetime Product Replacement

  1. Automatically applies to all recipients of certain Allergan saline-filled and silicone gel-filled breast implant products
  2. For the life of the patient, provides replacement product in the event of a confirmed deflation or rupture regardless of the age of the implant
  3. At the request of your surgeon, allows for the exchange of implant styles and sizes for the replacement product subject to a charge for the difference between product list price if any

Confidence Plus Warranty

As a recipient of certain Allergan saline-filled breast implants you are automatically enrolled in our Confidence Plus warranty program at no charge!

  • 10 years of guaranteed financial assistance
  • Up to $1200 in out-of-pocket expenses for surgical fees, operating room and anesthesia expenses not covered by insurance
  • Silicone gel-filled and saline-filled breast implants covered
  • Lifetime product replacement
  • Automatic enrollment
  • Non cancellable terms

Confidence Plus Platinum Warranty

Also available for certain saline-filled breast implants when purchased for the low enrollment fee of $100 within 45 days of surgery

  • 10 years of guaranteed financial assistance
  • Up to $2400 in out-of-pocket expenses for surgical fees, operating room and anesthesia expenses not covered by insurance
  • Contralateral implant replacement. At the surgeon's request, Allergan will also provide a replacement for the contralateral breast.
  • Silicone gel-filled and saline-filled breast implant covered
  • Lifetime product replacement
  • Automatic renewal to Confidence Plus at no charge
  • Non cancellable terms

Products Covered

Allergan saline and silicone gel-filled breast implants listed below and implanted in the United States and Canada after April 1, 2002* are eligible for coverage under the Allergan Confidence Plus warranty programs provided the product has been used :

  • As intended by appropriately qualified and licensed surgeons in accordance with current and accepted plastic surgery techniques
  • In accordance with the current Allergan style breast implant package insert

Qualified Allergan Breast Implants

  • Saline-filled breast implants: Style 68HP, 68MP, 68LP, 163, 168, 363LF, 468
  • Silicone gel-filled breast implants: Style 10, 15, 20, 40, 45, 110, 115, 120

Events Covered Confidence Plus warranties apply only to cases of loss of shell integrity resulting in implant rupture or implant deflation that requires surgical intervention. Events Not Covered

The Confidence Plus warranties do not apply to:

  • Removal for capsular contracture
  • Dissatisfaction with implant size or aesthetics
  • Adverse reactions other than implant deflation or rupture
  • Loss of product integrity caused by open or closed capsulotomy
  • Surgery on the opposite breast to replace an intact implant unless covered by the Confidence Plus Platinum warranty
  • Other manufacturers' product
  • Financial reimbursement for a non-Allergan style replacement product in lieu of an Allergan style replacement product

Financial assistance and product replacement will be issued upon receipt and verification of the explanted product, the return goods authorization (RGA) and the patient's general release.
